adrenal glands:

In animals with backbones, the two endocrine glands, one above each kidney. The adrenal glands produce the hormone adrenaline together with a smaller amount of noradrenaline. The two hormones are chemically similar. The outer wall of the adrenals also produces cortisone and other hormones.
