kingdom:

The largest unit in the classification of living things or in the more recent three-domain system, the rank below domain. In the five kingdom system, there are animals, plants, fungi, protists, and monerans. The five kingdoms are sometimes combined with two empires, Prokaryota (living things that don’t have a cell nucleus) and Eukaryota (living things that have a cell nucleus).
