If I were you I would put another cage on the opening that the squirrels got into. But this cage would have a key. That’s what I would do to stop those squirrel’s.

To Mr. Simon,
I have a suggestion for you: Do you know this kind of clip that looks like a maraca except you can put your fingers through? You can use it to connect key chains, and you have to push the smaller part inside to open it (it isn’t very easy). If you attach many of those clips, the squirrels won’t be able to open your bird feeder. Even a 6 year old child will have a VERY (believe me, VERY) hard time opening it.
Try it; it might work!
