1. Extreme Earth Records
2. I like this book since it shows very interesting facts about earth that I’ve never known before.
3. I think this book is the most interesting when you talk about the temperatures on the hottest and the coldest places on earth. I never knew that a place on EARTH could be as cold as -128.6 F. The picture you used as the hottest place on earth makes the ground look scorching. The pictures you use make me seem like I’m there, and they are so beautiful! You write the most interesting books!

My Favorite Seymour Simon Book: Comets, Meteors and Asteroids smile

Why This Is My Favorite Book: I love the book, ‘Comets, Meteors and Asteroids’! I like this book because it thoroughly explains what Comets, Meteors and Asteroids are. I especially liked the photograph of the white, orange, red and blue comet streaking through space. This picture really lets the reader take a peek into the wonders of our Solar System!

Example From The Text: The section of the book where Seymour Simon said, ‘You are far more likely to see a meteor than a comet’ really gave me a better understanding of how frequently certain things happen in our Universe. This section of the text was very informational, tonight I will look for meteors outside my window, and maybe a comet! Thank you for writing this wonderful book Seymour Simon!

I like the book Cats. I like Cats because they ‘re cute and fluffy and I think your pictures are fascinating. They are also very energetic.
I like the picture of the cat flipping over on pg. 6. I like this picture because it reminds me of my cousins cat Stella. It reminds me of Stella because she is very young and energetic. When we drop a cheerio for her will race over like a race car and the picture of the cat on pg. 6 reminds me of her when she jumps off the counter.

Lightning

To me, lightning is an interesting thing to learn about. Looking at the lightning pictures you took look really cool. I was always wanting to learn about this! LOL

When lightning strikes a tree, sometimes they survive a direct hits because the electricity passes over the wet surface into the ground. I really like that quote, but if you were to go on the wet surface with the electricity still on it, what would happen?  hmmm

My favorite Seymour Simon book is Dogs.
The reason this is my favortie book is because it has so much good facts.:]I learned alot of facts about their senses. :]On page 7 it says If you stand still,a dog may not notice you. But an insect that moves in the grass will attract its attention. This shows that dogs have sensitive eyesight.

My favorite Seymour Simon book is Sharks.
I enjoy it because I’m somebody who’s really interested in these marvelous creatures, and when I picked up this book and opened it one day, an explosion of new, incredible information hopped into my head. Isn’t it just wonderful when you can find a book that will help you learn more on something you can enjoy?
There were some spots in the text where I thought the author made it even better. For instance, at the part where the author is introducing the introduction, at the end where he says: “When you know the truth about sharks, you’ll begin to see them as the fascinnating creatures they are, instead of monsters of myth.” because that signals me that I’m going to be learning the truth. I also enjoy the part where the author at the end of the book gives a list of tips on how to avoid being shark bait! It’s good tips to know! wink!
So, as you can see, like most of the Seymour Simon books, this ended up as one of my favorites! smile
