The Universe
I like this book because I am very interested in space and I like the different types of planets equally.
An example is on page 12 and 13, it shows the planets in our solar system. I wonder if there are more planets somewhere else in space.

Favorite Book: Tropical Rainforests
I like it because it explains about the world around me that I didn’t even know about.
A Tropical rainforest is really four layers of plants stacked one atop another.

My favorite book by Seymour Simon is Extreme Earth Records.

Extreme Earth Records is my favorite book because I thought it was amazing how he was able to find each of these records and get such great pictures of each and every one of the record-breaking places.

For example, I thought the picture of Paradise area of Mount Rainier was fascinating because it showed the freezing air surrounding the mountain.  Also, I thought it was very interesting how snow could fall any day of the year, including summer.

My favorite book by Seymour Simone is Mountains

Mountains is my favorite book because I think it’s very interesting about how Mt Everest is as tall as 26 skyscrapers stacked on top of each other

Example: Mountains raise up from the earth’s crust

Justin 5FE Penguins
This book is phenominal because the pictures are crystal clear and the penguins’ “statistics” are really easy to find.

An example is on page 21, the picture of the king penguin has the qualities that make it seem SO realistic.

My favorite book is cats because they are fun to play with and they are cute and fluffy little creatures. I think you do a very good jobs with your books. I like how you say that all cats are hunting animals. I also think that it is interesting how wild cats were tamed in ancient Egypt.

Coral Reefs
My favorite Seymour Simon book is Coral Reefs. This book is my favorite because I love oceans and I think that they’re fascinating. This book is captivating and really grabs your interest. I love the descriptive information and the way this book is written. My favorite part is where it says, “Imagine diving beneath the waves into the warm waters of a tropical ocean. You’re surrounded by strange rock shapes with brilliant colors: reds, greens, blues, oranges, and pinks. The colors change and shimmer and the waters are full of equally vibrant fish.” It really brings me into the scene.

My favorite book in the world is CATS by Seymour Simon. Its one of the best books i know   smile . I love learning about Cats they are my favorite animal. I love all the amazing descriptions and photos. I love the photo on page 8 because when the cat is jumping it looks like it is flying! I also love the CUTE pictures of cats on pages 12 and 17. I love learning , I never knew that,(More than one thousand years ago in Egypt when cats died , there was a period of mourning. Then the cat was mummified and buried in a casket in a cat cemetery.) i learned that on page 6 in the book Cats. I love this book because I totally love cats, and i love learning about these amazing animals.  I have always always loved to read about cats but its much more fun to read about cats if your reading a cat book by an amazing writer. On page 18 i learned that cats are not always tiny and cute they also can be fat. The photos in the book are cute , scary and just plane funny grin . I could take the book out of the library a million times and not get bored of it   grin .

Favorite book: Volcanoes
I like volcanoes because of there lava. I like it because of the color and I also like how it shoots out of the volcanoes when it erupts. smile
It’s cool how Seymour Simon writes because whenever I read his volcanoes book it makes me want to read more and more on non-fiction. My favorite part of the book is when he said, “After a volcano erupts, everything is buried under lava or ash …” ,“But in a few short months, life renews itself …” ,“Many good things come from fiery explosions of volcanoes.” it’s so cool that volcanoes can help the world! smile smile

Book Gorillas

This book is so great because it talks about how gorillas survive the wild life.

I love this picture of this baby gorilla. It has a very high grip and the baby gorilla only weighs four pounds. In this picture the baby gorilla is looking super duper cute.

Book: Our class loves the book SHARKS!

Why? We are crazy for sharks! As we were reading, the students could identify the types of sharks in the pictures before we even read about it! We learned so much from this book.

Example: Our favorite photo was on page 13, of the Whale Shark. We learned that the Whale Shark can grow to be the size of a trailer truck! Wow!

Book: Cats
Why we like it: The photographs are very cute. Some of us have pet cats and we like to learn about our pets.
Example: Did you know that cats can not really see in the dark? Although they have very good eyesight, they can’t see in total darkness.

My favorite book is Spiders
I like this book because it reminds me of the time when I woke up with a spider on my face.
A really cool part in the book that kind of worries me is when you said nearly all spiders have venom to paralyze their prey as a defense against their enemies. I must have been lucky!

My favorite book that you wrote. I like Jupiter because in 4th grade I did a report on it. My favorite part in the book is when you said that some times the great dot is dull pink and I thought maybe because of the hyper rotation makes the color lighter or maybe because there is no air in space.

My favorite book is spiders.
I like this book because it explains how spiders may look ugly and scary and deadly but most of them are completely harmless.
This book proves that only a few of them are poisonous. People don’t like them, because if you think about it if you see a spider and a bee wouldn’t you be more scared of a spider? Well actually each year, much more people are hurt or killed by bees than spiders! Crazy right? smile smile smile

My favorite book by you is Destination Space.
I am very interested in space. I study space every chance I get, and I love to read your solar system books. smile
I love it when you compare our sun with huge star like Eta Carinae, VY Canis Majoris and V354 Cephie.

Tornadoes
I am very interested in tornadoes, but I am also very scared of them, since we do not have them in New Jersey. This is my favorite book because I love learning about storms, especially tornadoes. I have really only read this book once, but it really caught my interest. on page 13 I was looking at the pictures I saw an arieal photo of some houses but some houses were destroyed but some weren’t. and on page 13 I like how said the months when they hit and the states. and tornadoes don’t always travel alone, sometimes they travel in two
