Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary: ANIMOTO
I had such a great time yesterday with the students and teachers at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, and they took so many great photographs that Liz (my wife and editor of this blog) decided to make an Animoto video. Click Here to view.
I hope you like it. I really enjoyed my time with you all yesterday!

Cool VIdeo of the Week
Niskayuna, New York is a wonderful mix of rural farmland and urban history. I drove around photographing on a very chilly but beautiful December morning, when Seymour Simon was in town to visit the Craig, Rosendale, Hillside and Glencliff Elementary Schools.
We hope that all the great students and teachers in Niskayuna enjoy this video, but we think others might like it as well. Have you studied the Erie Canal in school? It runs right through Niskayuna and you can see pictures here.
The great music in this video, by the way, is from the NBC Television show THE SING OFF, performed by the University of Rochester Yellow Jackets.
Click Here to view this video, which is called "NISKAYUNA: A BRIGHT DECEMBER MORNING." Enjoy, and happy holidays!

Thanks, Eagle Springs Elementary!
I had a great time at Eagle Springs Elementary school in Humble, Texas yesterday. Donna Smalley, the librarian at Eagle Springs Elementary school was so quick - click here to see the video full of great photos from our day together. Her note read: "So many positive and enthusiastic comments (from the students)!"
Thanks, Donna. Your kids were obviously well prepared, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Eagle Springs!

Dancing with Seymour Simon
There’s a new video that showcases Seymour Simon’s books as you’ve never experienced them before - animated to a Breakbeat music track!
Shelly Puckett, the Library Media Specialist at Meadows Elementary School in Meadows Place, Texas, wanted to get her kids excited about Seymour’s visit to their school. So she used Animoto to make this very hip animation. Click here to view and dance along to beat of Seymour Simon’s world. Wonderful!
(Music track: "Montreal" by Seattle drummer KJ Sawka).

Valentine to San Angelo, TX
This is something that I have been meaning to post for awhile. When Seymour spoke at the Literacy Conference at San Angelo State University earlier this year, he was introduced by district education specialist Dedra Carter. Dedra had been up very late the night before making this wonderful "animoto" slide show - complete with text and music - to introduce Seymour. It is very touching, and the emotion reflects the way we felt about our week there. Lots of love right back at you, San Angelo!
